Tuolumne County Farm Bureau President

Sasha Farkas was elected President of Tuolumne County Farm Bureau in November 2010.  He has served on the board since 2006.  He resides in Sonora and farms apples and timber while working as a field manager at Cedar Ridge Apple Ranch. He also owns and operates Sasha’s Land Clearing.  He also Serves on the board of California Farm Bureau Federation.

Agritourism and value added products are two areas Farkas devotes much time to while working for the apple ranch. His land clearing business focuses on fuels reduction, forest thinning and pasture restoration. Agriculture runs deep in Sasha’s family tree. His grandfather worked on a dairy; and his Great Uncle was a dairyman who passed his business on to his children and now their children. 

 Farkas attended Columbia Junior College and Butte Junior College. He then transferred to California State University, Chico graduating in 2003 with a degree in Physical Education. He has served as Tuolumne County Farm Bureau’s Water Committee Chair, CFBF’s Water Advisory Committee, Past 4H allstar, received a US Forest Service National Award For Excellence and was the first president of Farms of Tuolumne County.

Sasha and his wife Charla have two children Cienna, age 8 and 3 year old Sahara.
